Kathy Ryan's Biography
"Teaching in the Boston area for the last 10 years has given me the opportunity to bring together all that has motivated me and inspired me and share it with my friends in the form of a unique yoga class."
Before yoga, Kathy started in NYC as a dancer, then added modeling, choreographer and actress to her resume. After many commercials and magazine ads for Gatorade, Dr. Pepper, Legg’s Panty Hose, Saks Fifth Ave, JC Penny, Sears, Lite Beer, Chrysler and Harper’s Bazaar… a TV commercial brought her to Los Angeles. While working in LA she decided to stay and leave cold winters behind… for the time being.
Los Angeles kept her busy choreographing shows for Disney Studios, Disneyland, Dick Clark Productions, Dreamworks and Universal Studios. Also worked on shows like Baywatch, The Ellen Show and General Hospital. And with such celebrities as William Shatner, Pamela Anderson, Sharon Stone, Elizabeth Taylor, David Hasselhof, Magic Johnson, Tom Petty, Clint Black, Jamie Lee Curtis, Heather Locklear and Liza Minelli.
Looking for a new way to workout she went to a yoga class…and the rest is history. After studying in Los Angeles for years and becoming certified to teach yoga, she moved back to Boston. And soon started a yoga program at the local dance studio.
That lead to many classes and workshops at not only my own studio but also The Sports Club LA, Canyon Ranch Resort, Gold’s Gym, Wellesley Country Club, Laughing Dog Yoga, Boston Sports Club, Fusion Fitness and many more.

Kathy’s unique background in movement as a Dancer, Choreographer, Pilates Instructor, Nia student and Yoga Teacher has brought her a greater awareness of the body, mind and spirit connection. In turn this knowledge is passed along to her clients in classes and workshops.
Currently Kathy is back in Los Angeles teaching yoga.
